It is recommended to avoid foods that are high in sodium, canned foods, chips, fast foods, frozen meals, processed cheese slices, salt, processed meats, pickled foods, ketchup. Phosphorus Scarce Diet
Reducing high-phosphorus foods helps retain needed calcium as phosphorus blocks the absorption of calcium leading to difficulties in maintaining the electrolytic balance. Switch to a diet that is low on phosphorus rich foods such as cottage cheese, yogurt, milk, soy cheese, soy yogurt and hard cheeses.
Skip Processed Food
Processed food like potato chips, crackers, deli meats, cheese spreads, and instant potato mix are all examples of processed foods that are high in sodium and phosphorus additives. Processed food can have negative effects on kidneys.
