Ageing Triggers

Ageing is a natural process; it can’t be stopped. The real problem occurs when you start getting old before the age when you are supposed to get old. Carefree lifestyle, wrong eating habits, sleeplessness, excessive consumption of fast food, and lack of exercise accelerate the process of ageing. If you too are troubled by this problem, you can reverse ageing with some lifestyle modifications. Image Courtesy: Getty
Wrong Eating Habits

A lack of nutritious elements in your diet can speed up ageing. One must refrain from eating too much fried or junk food which deplete the amount of proteins and essential nutrients in our body. This makes our body feel weak and look older than it really is. Image Courtesy: Getty
Eating Sugary Foods

Too many sweets give us health problems like type 2 diabetes and obesity which put our body at a risk of accelerated ageing. That’s because a process called glycation causes sugars to attach to proteins in collagen and elastin, which can make skin look older. The ageing effects of excess sugar consumption become visible around age 35 and accelerate rapidly after that. Image Courtesy: Getty
Stress

People who live under stress should try to get rid of their habit because a study done by Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston found that stress can make people age faster than those who are stress-free. Image Courtesy: Getty
Too Much Work

According to research, a bland job which doesn’t excite you or where you have to work overtime raises your risk of getting a heart disease and makes your body to age sooner. Along with this, limiting the time for exercise, healthy meal, and sleep is responsible for ageing. Image Courtesy: Getty
Anger

Too much anger and the habit of suppressing it can make you older than you are. According to a research published in the journal of Behavioural Medicine, suppressing too much anger increases levels of the hormone cortisol in the body. This increment in cortisol levels speeds up body’s ageing process. Image Courtesy: Getty
Sleeping Late at Night

You spoil your routine when you stay up late until night working or watching television. This habit gives you stress, wrinkled skin and affects memory. All these problems cause you to age prematurely. Image Courtesy: Getty
Smoking

According to the American Journal of Public Health, people who smoke too much can lose eight long years from their lifespan. Smoking also causes wrinkles in your skin and grey hair. And the fact that smoking cigarettes can give you cancer, heart diseases, and memory issues cannot be pressed enough. Image Courtesy: Getty
Not Using Sunscreen

Most people think that a sunscreen is redundant during winters and monsoons, which is totally not true. Wearing a sunscreen regularly protects you from harmful ultraviolet rays that cause ageing skin. Image Courtesy: Getty
Lack of Exercise

Not exercising can turn you old in youth. A regular exercising regime not only makes your body fit and flexible but also helps you get rid of various health problems. Being physically active for at least 30 minutes each day is essential in maintaining your youth and health. Image Courtesy: Getty
