Grains
Certain grains like rice, barley, and wheat should be avoided as they may disrupt the light and pure state of fasting. Instead, opt for kuttu and samak rice.
Alcohol and Caffeine
Alcohol and caffeine should be avoided as they can shift focus from spirituality, and increase anxiety and dehydration. However, herbal teas are a good alternative.
Non-Vegetarian Food
Non-vegetarian food is considered heavy that disrupts the body’s energy, and spiritual focus, and promotes negative thoughts.
Pulses
Pulses are considered rajasic food and are difficult to digest while fasting. Fruits, vegetables, and dairy are ideal alternatives during the fast.
