Bottle gourd (doodhi / lauki), besan (Bengal gram flour), curd (dahi), chilli powder, asafoetida (hing), turmeric powder (haldi), salt, coconut oil, tomato ketchup, cooked rice (chawal).

Add all the ingredients along with water, and combine well to obtain an even and lump-free batter.

Cook the chilla on both sides with oil until golden-brown and crisp on the outside.
Serve
Do the same with more chilas and serve hot with tomato ketchup and fresh green chutney for dipping.
