Leukemia
This is the most common type of cancer in children affecting the bone marrow and blood. Its symptoms are joint pain, fatigue, weakness, bleeding, weight loss, and more.
Bone Cancer
It is also a common type of cancer that can develop at any age. It has two types, i.e., Osteosarcoma and Ewing sarcoma. Osteosarcome starts near the ends of leg or arm bone whereas Ewing sarcoma starts in the pelvic area or chest wall.
Wilms Tumor
It is also known as nephroblastoma and affects the kidneys. It usually develops in children around the age of 3-4 years. It shows up as a swelling or lump in the abdomen.
Brain and Spinal Cord Tumor
Brain and Spinal cord tumors are the second most common cancer in children. They often begin at the lower part of the brain such as cerebellum and can cause nausea, seizures, and more.
Retinoblastoma
This cancer affects the eye which typically occurs in children around the age of two. It is when the pupil of the eye looks white or pink instead of red when exposed to light.
Neuroblastoma
This cancer develops in young children and infants and begins in early forms of nerve cells. It forms as a tumor in the abdomen and causes bone pain and fever.
Rhabdomyosarcoma
This cancer develops in skeletal muscle cells and can occur in various parts of the body such as the abdomen, head, or neck. It can also cause pain or swelling.
