Have ten fruits and vegetables daily– Fruits contain loads of nutrients that help repair the body tissues. These include phytochemicals, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Have more of berries, peaches, blueberries, baked apples with cinnamon, and various combinations for fruit smoothies with yoghurt. If you want to have a snack, have bananas instead of any sort of junk food.

Have more of whole grain foods– Take in as much nutrition as possible and for this you need to have more of, or perhaps only whole grain foods instead of processed or refined foods. This would mean having brown rice and whole grain wheat bread. You could also include grains such as quinoa in your diet.

Foods that contain healthy bacteria– Your stomach is loaded with bacteria that process the food better. These are called probiotics. There are certain foods that are full of such bacteria and help you digest and process food better. Kefir and Yoghurt are some foods that help you in increasing the level of healthy bacteria in your stomach. You can also use certain cereals for increasing probiotics in your body. Ask your nutritionist or health care provider to advise you on this matter.

Have more of steamed vegetables– By steaming your vegetables,  you get the most nutrient value out of them. You need to devise ways and means to add more of these in your plate. For example, you can try out a stir fry dish with mushrooms, cauliflowers, baked potato, peppers, with sweet peas that have been already steamed, a salad, broccoli, tomato and zucchini. You can perhaps make a steamed vegetable soup with mustard greens, kale, spinach, chard, collard greens, but with low amount of salt.

With such modifications in your diet, your task of aiding in the healing process of your body would be complete. You also need to modify your cooking with peeling, grinding and mixing and mashing of various food items. It not only makes your food interesting but also gives you the required nutrients.
