Not just health benefits, but there are many yoga poses that can help in enhancing your skin and hair care routine as well. It maintains the proper functioning of each and every organ of the body. The main function of liver is detoxification. But, how to detox your liver itself? For smooth and regular cleansing of this organ, you can rely on yoga. A few helpful asanas can enhance many internal organs including liver.

Yoga poses to detox liver 

It is always beneficial to practice yoga on a daily basis. With proper variations, you can improve your digestive system and liver health as well. Here are 5 useful yoga poses to detox liver: 

1. Bhujangasana 

Bhujangasana or cobra pose is a famous yoga asana which provides several health benefits, including liver detoxification. Practicing this yogasan daily can keep your liver strong and healthy. It will help in flushing out toxins from the entire body. 

How to do: 

  • Lie down on your stomach with legs straight 
  • Then, lift up your upper body by taking support of your hands on the floor
  • Hands should be within the level of your chest 
  • Try to extend and stretch as much as possible by forming an arc

2. Marichyasana 

This yogasan is beneficial for your digestion, spine and liver. It helps in stimulating internal organs and improving their function. To cleanse your liver properly, you can practice marichyasana everyday at home. 

How to do: 

  • Sit on a mat and straighten your legs
  • Fold your left knee and extend the foot upto your right knee
  • While inhaling, lift your arms and spine and whilr exhaling, twist your right shoulder
  • Left hand should be placed behind your back and right hand should be pressed over the folded knee
  • Stay in this pose for 5 breaths and repeat the same using opposite legs and arms 

3. Malasana 

Malasana is one of the most effective yoga poses to detoxify your liver. It aids digestive system and keeps the liver healthy. Malasana or garland pose is not a very easy asana but if practiced daily, begginners can also build an expertise. 

How to do: 

  • Go in a squatting position 
  • Inhale, spread your thighs and bring the elbows together 
  • While exhaling, lean your abdominal area forward and try to bring it between your thighs
  • Do atleast 5 reps

4. Naukasana 

Naukasana is a great yoga pose to cleanse the liver. Naukasana or also called the boat pose is helpful in treating and preventing liver disease. It is beneficial to strengthen the liver, lungs and pancreas. 

How to do: 

  • Lie down straight on your back 
  • Then, by taking the support of your hip bones, lift the upper and lower body 
  • Toes should be as per the level of your eyes 
  • Focus on the core and abdominal muscles 
  • Inhale and exhale in the position for a few seconds

5. Ardha chakrasana 

Ardha chakrasana keeps the liver healthy and functioning efficiently. This pose can be done in different variations and all of them provide various benefits. 

How to do: 

  • Stand straight and raise your hands while inhaling 
  • Then, keep both your hands on the buttocks 
  • Lean your upper body backwards slowly with deep breathing
