If a woman has irregular cycles, spotting in between periods, heavy and painful periods, bleeding after sex, or no ovulation, then fertility testing is the need of the hour. Moreover, if a man has a problem maintaining erections or issues with ejaculations, then it is imperative to see the expert without any delay. If the pair has any underlying medical problems, it may be prudent to begin fertility testing sooner rather than later.
Having polycystic ovarian syndrome, a history of pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, a history of pelvic surgery/radiation, or known male infertility will indicate that you need to take the fertility test on an immediate basis. Furthermore, for a couple planning to conceive later in life, females over 35 or 40 should see a fertility consultant without any delay. It is a no-brainer that fertility can start to decline sharply starting at these ages, and it can be helpful to get an assessment of reproductive health.
