Display of results varies in different types of pregnancy test kits.  In most kits, it is displayed by colour bands (lines), wherein a single band displays negative result and appearance of two bands means a positive result.  In some pregnancy test kids, plus (+) and minus (-) signs show results while in others change in colour of urine sample is the deciding factor.

After Conducting the Pregnancy Test

If no band appears on your pregnancy test kit then it can be due to a low level of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG), the pregnancy hormone.  In such a situation you must repeat the test after 72 hours.
