Pregnant women need more energy than usual because their function and more active and hormones are released to combat health conditions that occur in that phase. At that stage women do need some extra fats and carbs to maintain their energy levels that decline rapidly due to hormonal changes. Also proper nourishment and nutrients are needed for growth of the baby. A good breakfast for pregnant women includes having proteins, calcium, fibre and iron. During pregnancy you also need additional vitamins to boost your health

Breakfast Foods to Include During Pregnancy

1. Spinach-cheese egg scramble

Eggs are high protein diet and same is the case with spinach. Cheese provides healthy fats and vitamins that are beneficial for person going through pregnancy. Spinach-cheese egg scramble can be a complete package diet when it comes to nutrient rich diet plans. This includes various nutrients such as vitamin B-12, antioxidants and choline that are extremely beneficial during pregnancy. 

Spinach also has folic acids, iron, calcium and vitamin that keep the protein levels high. Cheese must be made from pasteurised milk that keeps you full for longer duration. It is a delicious meal and can be had twice or thrice in a week if possible.

2. Ginger Blueberry whole wheat pancakes

This is another delicious breakfast meal that can be given to pregnant women. Having a good taste is important for pregnancy because it keeps their mental health in place. This increases their efficiency and productivity to perform functions. Since their health is related to baby’s health it becomes important to add ingredients that are healthy for him as well. Then you need to add chia seeds, lemon zest, honey or maple syrup of that is available to add flavours and keep is healthy at the same time.
