Depression In WomenA recent research showed that women at the age 25 are the happiest while at 34 they become most stressed.
A study conducted on 2,000 women showed that the stress of managing work along with household chores reaches its peak by the time a woman is 34.

The pressure caused by work, looking after families, and paying bills accumulates till mid thirties making this stage less fun and more stressful, says the study.

Women who are in their mid twenties are less bothered about their looks, body weight, and social lives. All these worries start getting on to them by the time they are in their mid thirties.

According to the survey, one in every five women (18 per cent) admits that they are unhappy in life due to stress. This became true of women falling between the ages of 35 and 44. Also, according to the survey, Scottish women were found to be the unhappiest in Britain.

Amongst the 2,000 women surveyed, only one in eight believed that women are the happier sex.

In the list of top 10 reasons women blamed for stress, the most important reason was found to be financial issues followed by health and well-being of family and friends.

At the fourth place in this list stood the well-being of children and good family life as the cause behind stress, followed by how women came across to other people in the fifth position.

At the sixth position was being attractive as the biggest reason behind stress, closely followed by looks at the seventh place.

Career was the eight biggest reason of stress for women and not being able to spend time with family and friends was at the ninth position.

Revealing the changes needed to make women’s lives better, the study showed that earning more would make a huge difference.

The founder of beauty products firm Inner Me which has commissioned the research, Nikki Cooper said “As women enter their early to mid-thirties, balancing the demands of work and family life can be really hard work, and the ladies of this country can often find they have little ‘me’ time”.
