Kidneys are organs that are responsible for filtering fluids and wastes from the blood to form urine. This urine flows from kidneys to the bladder though tubes called ureters. Kidney dysplasia is a condition that can be found in infants while they grow in the womb.

Kidney Dysplasia SymptomsThere are other terms that are used by scientists and doctors to describe the condition like renal dysplasia and multicystic dysplastic kidney (MCDK).

Kidney dysplasia usually takes place in one kidney and the infant suffering from the condition can have a normal growth and has few health problems. The infants who suffer from dysplasia in both the kidneys do not survive the pregnancy and some of those who do, need a dialysis and kidney transplant in early stages of life.
