- Back pain is a common cause of disability in people between 19 and 45 years of age and after the age of 45, the condition can be especially severe.
- If the pain lasts for less than three months, then you have an acute condition and if the pain extends to more than 12 weeks, then it is called chronic back pain.
- In most people the pain starts to improve in couple of days to a few weeks. And most people recover completely in six weeks. But in 90 per cent of cases the pain is likely to recur within a year.
