Condoms have different shapes, styles, widths, lengths, strengths and sizes. Different manufacturers turn them out differently. There has not been any standard length specified for condoms but this is because its material is stretchable enough to fit a man’s erect penis. The variation in condoms’ length is also meant to serve some purposes. Those with smaller width give a closer fit while others are larger. For ensuring safety and pleasure, you need to choose a condom which fits you well.

• There is no standard condom length but those made from latex rubber are expected to fit an erect penis.
• Width of condoms varies. The difference between the largest and the smallest condom is about 1.5 cm.
• The average condom size is 7.5 inches in length, 2 inches width at the shaft and a bit more than 2 inches wide at the head.
• Condom failure can result from condoms being too small or too large.
• When too large, condoms may slip off and when too small, they are likely to tear. So, choose one that fits your penis well by trial and error.
• Get narrower condoms if you find the average size one slippery during intercourse.
• Condoms if too narrow can feel constrictive in the shaft and be likely to break.
• You might find the average sized condom with a head that is too tight. Account for this by choosing those that have more headroom.
• Close fitting or smaller condoms are generally known as trim or snug fit.
• Larger fitting condoms have been named XL, XXL or Magnum.
• Condom sizes also depend on its material. Condom material can be latex, polyurethane, polyisoprene and lambskin.
• Generally, condom sizes are not a cause for concern because the average penis size is between 5 and 6 inches, from the base to the head. Since most condoms are more than 7.5 inches in length, you would be safe most of the time. It is just that with a perfect fit, you can ensure even better protection.

Width of condoms based on different sizes are :

1. Narrow Condoms – 1.75 inches wide.
2. Average Condoms – 2 inches wide.
3. Large Condoms – Width more than 2 inches.
4. Extra Large Condoms – Width more than 2.5 inches wide at the head, and more than 2 inches wide at the shaft.
