How teeth aid in digestion

As you may know , there are different sets of teeth and each set plays a particular function. Teeth are known to play vital function in the process of digestion. When you chew your food properly, it sends a signal to saliva to aid in the breakdown of certain carbohydrates.

Molars helps one grind food between opposing upper and lower molars. Incisors or the front teeth with sharp edges that enables one to cut food. These have long roots and are designed to tear food. The incisor teeth cuts food and pushes it between molars and premolars with the help of the tongue. The back teeth aid in the chewing.

Premolars play an important role in chewing process by crushing food. There are also 2 premolars in each quadrant of the mouth that are situated in-between the molars and incisors.
