Hey, TV viewers, Beware! Here’s something that is not so healthy discovery for you.

According to a new study done by the Australian researchers, every hour of TV can snatch some valuable time from your timeline. Yes, it might be jaw-dropping to hear but research has shown that every hour spent in front of the idiot box can reduce your life by 22 minutes.

It also states that watching television can shorten one’s life expectancy by 4.8 hours. The study is based on an average six hours of television viewing, compared against the people who don’t watch TV at all. The scientists generated a life expectancy chart by using the data available from the National Bureau of Statistics, Obesity and lifestyle study.

The research further revealed the risk factors of watching television and leading an inactive lifestyle that can be even compared with chronic disease such as smoking, obesity and physical inactivity. It claimed that the growing exposure to television is a major cause for substantial loss of life.

 

The study has also analysed the potential risks which come as a subsidy to unhealthy lifestyle.
