Students across the country are done with exam fever and now it’s time for them to brace for their score cards. In the cut-throat competitive world that we live in, each student is expected to score well. Students who appear for class 12 board examinations have to look for career opportunities based on their scores. Only candidates with an impressive percentage can make it to the leading universities and colleges of the country. Hence, to see their child have a bright future all parents wish that their child studies hard, performs well in the exams, and comes out with flying colours in life. But, amidst this strong urge to score well in exams, there are few students who do not make it to the mark; some fail and some attain marks which are below average.
Some students are not good with studies but, due to constant pressure from their parents they spend long hours with their books. Still, many of them do not manage to live up to the expectations of their parents and teachers. When the score card arrives and you discover that your grades are way lower than what your parents expect from you, the biggest task you face at that moment is to inform your parents about your grades. You can get grounded and lectured by your parents when they learn about your result. So, to calm them down and to lower the amount of nagging you will receive, here are few tips you should always follow.
When you know you have scored low, always make sure that you do not lose your scorecard. This may end up irritating your parents further and may heat up the already tensed situation.
If you have scored well in one subject and have not been able to score good in another, the best way to reveal your result to your parents is to show them both the score cards together. By looking at the better grade, their temper may lower down and you may be left scott-free.
If you see your parents losing their temper and if they go off on you, don’t just start crying. Instead, listen to what they have to say. The lecture may have a piece of information hidden in it.
When your parents start yelling at you, never enter into an argument with them. Always remember that whatever they say is out of concern and they wish to let you have a bright future.
If you know your grades were low because of silly mistakes you have committed, discuss it with your parents. Show them where you went wrong and seek help from them to rectify your mistakes.
When you score badly in exams, it may be all the more depressing for your parents. So, save them from the pain and learn how to tell them about your low grades.
