An alarming medical case of two men middle-aged brothers in the UK has brought them back to their childhood. The Britons seem to be regressing in age after having contracted a bizarre medical condition similar to what Brat Pitt played in the famous America Fiction “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”. The duo named Matthew, 39 and Michael Clark, 42 were believed to have contracted terminal leukodystrophy in 2011, which only affects newborn babies. Despite of being employed, the duo has started behaving like toddlers.
Michael is an ex-Royal Air Force regiment member, who is now assumed to have the brain of a 10 year old. He is often seen giggling at futile things while his brother Matthew, a factory worker, conducts himself as a small child.
Parents of the brothers, Anthony, 63 and Christine Clark, 61, are devastated at the regression in their sons’ mental age. Anthony said that Matthew went out a few days ago and got home a train set and a potato head. Expressing their helplessness, the couple talked about how worried they are worried at how much the disease is making them powerless.
Michael’s symptoms became more apparent when he was evicted for not taking care of himself. Matthew, on the other hand, was fired from his job as a factory worker for reasons assumed to be related to his childish behaviour.
The couple has abandoned their plans of returning to Spain to look after the brothers.
It has been estimated that only 1 in 3 billion people carry the gene deficiency meeting. Leukodystrohpy is a neurological disease that affects the brain, spinal cord and the nervous system. Considering that only a few in a million contract the neurological disease, not much has been known about it.
