Want to shed those extra kilos but fretting at the prospects of painful procedures, tardy recuperation and hard exercise regimes? Check out the latest ultrasound-based slimming technology, known as Ultra Contour.
Very effective and a painless procedure for body sculpting and weight loss, it is the only non-invasive option to reduce fat.
"Obesity and overweight not only distort body contours but also cause obesity-related complications such as diabetes, hypertension, stroke, heart attacks, joint pains, depression and social isolation. Weight management and healthy nutrition are basic pillars of body contouring.
However, as Ultra Contour is an excellent technology to reduce body fat non-surgically and has given significant results. This is the most advanced non-invasive Ultra Contour procedure that helps in shedding 1 to 4 inches and 2 kg to 3 kg weight within a week," says Dr Sanjay Parasar leading Plastic, Aesthetic and Craniofacial surgeon.
"Ultra Contour is a patented French technology. It does not have normal ultrasound waves. Ultra Contour is the only machine which has HIFU + UMD technology combined together. HIFU is high intensity focalised ultrasound, this technology was primarily developed to rupture the kidney stones, none invasively. So they further developed this technology at a very specific frequency, low energy and depth, just to target fat cells. In this technology, pulses of focalised ultrasound (focussed on fat cell) are given, which ruptures the fat cells. The depth of each pulse is 1.5 to 2 cm, same depth as liposuction; this intern ruptures the fat cells very specifically.
Ultrasound Massage Drainage (UMD) is the second part of this revolutionary machine: the technique is the part of same system and gives out pulses of ultrasound, which immediately pushes out the lyses fat from fat cells to the lymphatic system. This is in turn drained out from lymphatic system. The machine is totally painless and needle-less and the patient can have a permanent reduction of 1 to 3 inches, depending on the area treated," explains Dr. Sanjay Parasar leading Plastic, Aesthetic and Craniofacial surgeon.
"There are no side-effects, whatsoever. It is painless, non-surgical, no incision or needle is needed, and yet very effective. The HIFU technology has studies from early 1950s on human anatomy. The frequency used in as Ultra Contour is specialised, and is only absorbed by fat cells. No other organ or tissue is affected with it. The machine had two years of laboratory trials and two years of clinical trials before it was launched in the market," says Dr Manoj Kumar, senior consultant aesthetic laser and reconstructive surgery.
"There are no precautions as such; however we don't treat people with pace makers, any internal electronics transplants and pregnant women. Our Ultra Contour trained professionals evaluate the patients and make them undergo the treatment," he says.
"There is circumferential loss and it is permanent, as the fat cells are ruptured and fat cells once destroyed cannot come back, like after liposuction. One session requires 1 hour and 10 minutes on complete abdomen, and there is immediate circumference loss of 1 inch to 3 inches after the procedure. This is permanent fat loss, as Ultra Contour is only non-invasive answer to lipolysis," adds Dr. Manoj Kumar.
A person can go for this treatment more than once. There is a protocol for at least six sessions for the best results. The generally recommend age group is 20 onwards.
The treatment costs up to Rs 15,000 per session, there are some combined treatments for the most optimised results.
