Iron Deficiency is a common cause of anaemia and the prognosis is usually good.
If you suspect you have signs and symptoms suggestive of iron deficiency anaemia consult your doctor.
Self-treatment with iron supplements should be avoided as excessive iron can cause several side effects. Besides this the underlying cause may not be actually iron deficiency in diet. Instead anaemia can be due to bleeding ulcers, piles, polyp or cancerous tumour in your intestine, or excessive menstrual bleeding.
Your doctor after examination and tests can confirm the cause of anaemia and then recommend treatment.
