A lot of women failing at their efforts to conceive have no idea about what went wrong. With other factors, a disturbed pH balance can also be the reason. The pH scale determines the level of acidity or alkalinity within the body, as well as in food products.

The pH of human body ranges between 0 to 14; 0 being the most acidic, 7 being neutral and 14 being the most alkaline. It is important for the body to maintain a certain pH level which allows it to metabolize efficiently. A balanced pH also helps our body to transport nutrients and to lubricate.

Altering your diet to include more or less of certain food products can help you achieve the right uterine pH level ideal for conception.

If your uterus is tested acidic, increase your intake of leafy vegetables, fruits, and grains to improve its levels of alkalinity. In their book "The Estrogen Alternative: A Guide to Natural Hormonal Balance,” Raquel Martin and Judi Gerstung have suggested that your diet should consist of 80 percent alkaline foods and 20 percent acidic foods. Spinach, bananas, leeks, mangoes, quinoa, buckweheat, coconut, almonds, and pineapple are some examples of alkaline foods.

In case your uterus has tested to be highly alkaline, you must consume acidic foods to balance the pH level. Acidic foods include meat, dairy products, sugar, corn and some fruits, such as cranberries and blueberries.

Step 3: Consume Chlorophyll-rich Foods

Chlorophyll is a compound that gives plants their pigment. Brandon Brazier, author of "Thrive: The Vegan Nutrition Guide to Optimal Performance in Sports and Life," explains that chlorophyll significantly raises the pH level of acidic foods so that they become more alkaline. Foods that contain high amount of chlorophyll are asparagus, cucumbers, zucchini, peas, and parsley. Individuals with a high intake of meat or dairy products would benefit from incorporating these foods into their diet.
