How to Lose Weight on Your Vacation

You've been working hard to be in shape and want to continue the regimen, but the month long vacation is your worry. Well, don’t push yourself hard to lose a bit more weight and ruin leisure of your vacation. Losing weight while on a vacation sounds like a difficult task, but is attainable. Holiday-making is the time to unwind and get respite from chaotic urban life.

Thinking about weight loss amidst stress-busting holiday sounds unfamiliar to some. Don’t put fun and frolic at stake for a shapely body, but begin with making plans and doing a bit of research to stay on course with weight loss regimen.

Below are some helpful tips to lose weight in time for vacation.

While on the Way to your Destination:. Don’t get drawn towards tempting airplane food in the form of pizzas, steaks smothered in heavy sauces, chocolate cookies or high-calorie potato chips. The starchy, carbohydrate enriched foods will damage your plans of losing weight. It will be great if you carry your own food when you fly or travel.

Dietary Choices: You must avoid refined and processed food preparations that are available in plenty at holiday destinations. Be cautious of the quality of food. Abstain from foods high in fat and sodium along with low fibre food items. Structure your diet with loads of nutritious food or foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean meats, skimmed milk, low-fat dairy products, whole grains, nuts and seeds. You may also carry some ready-to-eat food preparations. Estimate your caloric requirement and proceed accordingly.

Adventure Activities / Sports: You may engage in adventure sports or activities at the holiday location. Walk down the coastal strip or hike a hill-station. Physical engagement will be an alternative to your workout regimen. Running, biking, swimming and rowing are the other activities you may engage in to induce weight loss.

Start your Day with Moderate Exercise
: Irrespective of the time you wake up, do some basic exercises such as push-ups, pushdowns and squats to begin your day. Stretching early in the morning along with moderate exercises will target the entire body. This will also keep your metabolism functioning, improve aerobic capacity in line and promote weight loss.
