How to Conceive

Here are some ways to help you conceive:

Avoid Stress

To conceive, it is important that you relax your mind to give it the best conditions of fertility. Stress obstructs the fertility of a woman and it is important that a woman keeps telling herself of the importance of keeping cool. Let go of stress by way of Yogic breathing techniques or just letting go of negative thoughts by way of positive reaffirmations.

Stay in Bed after Sex

After you have had sex, stay in bed for about 15 to 20 minutes as this increases the chances of conception. You may put your legs up in the air or place a pillow below the pelvic area to raise the vagina and let the sperm flow into the vaginal tract easily.

Track your Menstrual Cycle

Unless you keep a track of your menstrual cycle, you wouldn’t know when the right time is to conceive. Having sex curing ovulation is the best way to ensure that you get pregnant. Ovulation occurs 14 days from the start of the first day of menstruation. You can also check whether you are ovulating with the help of ovulation test kits that can be found at any supermarket, drugstore or online retailer. Ovulation can be checked by checking the basal body temperature. The temperature rises a bit when you are ovulating or just about to ovulate.

Avoid Unhealthy Food and Drinks

Certain food items interfere with the bodily functions and it therefore, advised that such foods not be taken. Caffeine, for instance, slows the supply of blood to the uterus. It is strictly proscribed by doctors when a woman is pregnant. Smoking and alcohol also affects one’s health adversely. If you are willing to conceive, you will have to eventually stop consuming coffee and therefore, it is important to gradually move away from its consumption.

Eat Fertility Enhancing Food

Fertility is the most important factor that stimulates conception and therefore, it is important that a woman willing to conceive consume foods such as garlic, beans, cauliflower, honey, nuts, avocado, oysters and green leafy vegetables.
