You need to choose your hair care products according to your hair type. It would not be advisable to take to a product that is meant for a texture of hair different than yours. You can follow the steps given below to know more about your hair texture and likewise choose the right hair care products.

For Dry Hair

If you have dry hair, you need to buy shampoos and hair conditioners meant for it. They work to restore moisture. Certain products that contain seed oils, aloe, shea butter and a few more are quite rich in mositurising elements and should be preferred. Remind yourself that if you have oily hair, these products would not be so good. For oily hair, shampoos and hair conditioners would be too heavy.

Flaky or itchy scalp

If your scalp itches or is flaky, avoid clarifying shampoos and buildup removers. Bear in mind that special anti-dandruff shampoos are the ideal for flaky or itchy scalp.  Greasy hair can be helped by using buildup removers. The dryness that is caused by them call for limited usage.

For preserving colour of your hair

For preserving the natural colours of your hair, you need to preserve the natural oils of your hair. This can be achieved by choosing colour fading shampoos and particularly those that are light on the hair and do not strip oil or take away the colour from the hair.

Treatment for moisturising your hair

You can make your dry hair silky by adding a mixture of 6 drops each of lavender, bay and sandalwood essential oils into 180 ml of sesame oil or soy oil. You need to be very accurate about this mixture to gain the best result. Part you hair in one-inch sections, and apply the mixture by using a cotton wad on the scalp. Cover your head in a towel so that the oils are enabled penetration into the skin. Shampoo twice to get rid of the remainder of the oil. This treatment can be also done using flaxseed oil as it is also a very good moisturiser.
