Homeopathic MedicineHomeopathy in its simplest form – treats the symptoms of your illness with a series of highly diluted medicines, which are expected to trigger the body’s natural healing system. Your homeopath is essentially treating you holistically, i.e. he is treating you as a whole as opposed to isolating the disease, so in theory it should help your overall health. This piece will explain how you should organize your homeopathic first aid kit to protect your family.

The most common illnesses looked at by homeopaths include skin conditions, menstrual and menopausal problems, chronic fatigue, migraines, persistent infections (colds, tonsillitis), and stress relates conditions like anxiety or insomnia.

Dilutions

Homeopathic first aid treatments are available for various common conditions and you can take them yourself. They are dispensed in “dilutions” of 6C, 9C, 12C and 30C. The lower concentrations are for acute illnesses while the 30C treats chronic or long term conditions.

You can purchase these homeopathic first aid kits online, but they are often missing one or more of the essential remedies that you feel you may need. You should try to do a very broad search and try to customize a kit to suit all your medical needs.

The Helios Basic 36 Remedy Kit contains 36 remedies in 30C potency and they also offer an Accident and Emergency one with 18 remedies with 200C potency, but they do not include some remedies which some individuals feel are essential, such as Ledum, Nux, Vomica and Rhus Tox.

A typical homeopathic first aid kit will provide remedies for common illnesses or injuries such as cuts and scrapes, bruises, burns and scalding, insect bites and stings, nosebleeds, heat exhaustion, motion sickness, splinters and blisters, eye injuries, or sprains and strains.

First timer?

If you are unaware of how homeopathy first aid kits work, then we’ll suppose that you experience severe bruising. It would be advised you take 30C of Arnica Montana every two hours. For a blistering burn or scalding, then you would take 30C of Arnica Montana every fifteen minutes followed by 30C of Cantharis every fifteen minutes. Basically, there are different dosages for various illnesses and ailments and you will be advised on how exactly to treat them.

One particular remedy for treating colds is Aconite; it’s useful to take a dose of this if you feel a cold coming on and it will either minimise the symptoms or it will prevent it altogether. It’s also quite useful for treating for shock or feelings of fear, and can be taken in conjunction with arnica after having a bad accident or suffering an injury.
