Pre pregnancy obesity can result in adverse pregnancy outcomes such as gestational diabetes and gestational hypertension. Gestational Diabetes Millitus is defined as any degree of glucose intolerance with onset of the pregnancy. Excess weight, obesity and Insulin Resistance are underlying causes of Gestational Diabetes.
