The main purpose of loose powder is to help the foundation and concealer get set so that they last longer, usually all day long. However you do not need to wear too much of it as it can make your skin dry, only a little dusting would do. The powder helps in setting the foundation that gives it a complete appearance. In addition, dusting powder all over your face will minimise the shine as well. Translucent powder is ideal to keep the oil at bay as it absorbs oils. Hence, people with oily skin should use setting powder to prevent the oils in the skin to break down the makeup to the point that it either slides or disappears from the face. Now the question arises which one to pick? Well, it depends on your skin type and what ingredients you are allergic to. People with oily skin require something that can reduce the shine and has oil absorbing ingredients and is translucent. The setting powder serves the purpose as it delays the process and saves you from touching up frequently. Use a fluffy brush to apply a loose powder because it will lightly disperse the powder onto the face without concentrating too much in just one area. You can use high definition powder from musauda to keep it neat and matt. For finer areas use smaller brush. Make sure you use a light hand while picking the powder up. But if you happen to pick extra, just shake off the excess. Learn from Vidya Tikari, renowned makeup artist how you should do it
