A diabetic should undergo a regular foot examination to prevent the occurrence of foot ulcers. The person should always check for any sores or cut in their feet. Diabetics should always keep their foot dry and clean. Moisture can cause fungal infections, resulting in foot ulcers. They should always wear clean footwear. Most importantly the person should maintain his/her blood glucose level in check to avoid any infection or ulcer formation in foot. If the ulcers become serious, consult a doctor. He will advice a wound dressing depending on the stage of the foot ulcer.
