How is Gestational Diabetes Diagnosed?

Gestational diabetes is first diagnosed during the pregnancy. It involves i resistance to insulin and an inability to metabolize the sugar and glucose present in the body. It mainly occurs around the second trimester. Women with gestational diabetes have mild symptoms and these symptoms are mostly related to the abnormal levels of sugar and glucose. Tests for gestational diabetes are usually done in 24 – 28 weeks of the pregnancy.
