According to famous Clinical Nutritionist Ms Ishi Khosla, Diabetes is greatly influenced by weight. People who are overweight are more prone to develop diabetes. Such people should maintain their calorie intake according to the body weight. They need to cut down their calories. Try to gain 40 to 60% calories from carbohydrates that include low glycaemic grains. Mix your everyday flour with the flours of low glycaemic seeds such as soy and barley. Avoid carbohydrates from simple sugar. Eat green leafy vegetables and avoid very sweet fruits such as mangoes, banana and sugar-laden juices. Eat healthy fats such as seeds and nuts. Healthy exercises (suitable for diabetics) should also be performed regularly. A diabetic diet is a normal diet, actually more nutritious, and it can be taken by a non-diabetic person as well.
