A lot of people believe and follow vastu shastra, the traditional Indian system of architecture, with focus on health and prosperity. If you are expecting and follow vastu, here are some useful vastu tips for you to ensure a healthy pregnancy.

    Meditate and practice in north eastern corner

    According to vastu, meditating and exercising in the north eastern corner of your house is good for a healthy pregnancy, because the north-east area is ruled by Easanya. It is believed to be a very important and spiritually prominent zone.

    Spend time in the east of your house when you feel weak

    If you feel tired, fatigued or weak, you should spend more time in the east corner of your house. According to vastu, the east is believed to be ruled by Indra, the god of war and weather. Indra has power over the rising sun, which is believed to have power over the bones, eyes, spinal cord and blood circulation.

    Avoid south and south-east corners during first trimester

    The south and south east zone of the house should be avoided during the first trimester. This is because the south east area is believed to be the habitat of fire while the south is an adobe for Yama, the God of Death.

    Having trouble sleeping? Vastu suggests that you should sleep with your head in the southern direction. This will help you to maintain the natural polarity of your body and wellbeing of both yourself and your foetus.
