    Summer is here and so is the time of dull and brittle summer hair. Yes, no matter how many times you oil them, no matter how many times you wash them and no matter what you do, you can never just have a ‘great hair day’. It will always be greasy, frizzy and easily breakable and you can blame it on the harsh sun, the brutal hot and dry air of summer. This hot weather calls for extra hair care. Here are some summer hair care tips that you must try this summer. Have a look!

    Cover up those tresses

    The first and very simple thing that you can do to save your hair from sun and the dry, hot air this summer is covering it. Covering not only save your hair from the harmful UV rays but also saves it from the hot air that can leave your hair dry and brittle. You can either use a hat or a scarf or anything cute to cover up the hair. However, do not cover them for longer hours; your scalp needs to breathe as well.

    Don’t stop oiling

    Many of us stop oiling our hair during summers, thinking that it will only make it greasy but the fact it that not oiling your tresses and just washing it will strip your hair off the natural hair. Oiling your hair after every three days will retain the moisture while keeping it conditioned when you shampoo them.

    Cut the heat

    Refrain from using those hot air hair dryers, hot curling irons and hot hair straighteners. The heat will only damage your hair. You must either minimise the frequency of usage or you must stop using them. You can use just air-dryers instead of hot air dryers.

    Drink water

    Do drink plenty of water during the day as drinking water can help you eliminate the toxins and have healthier hair.

    Daily dose of conditioning

    Do condition your hair regularly. If you do not wish to use branded conditioners, you can go for these natural ways of hair conditioning.

    • Massage your hair with your regular butter, leave it for about half an hour and then wash your head with a mild shampoo.
    • Massage your scalp with some warm olive oil, leave it for 45 minutes, cover your head with a plastic bag and then wash it with some mild shampoo.
    • Take three egg whites; add 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar and 2 tbsp of olive oil in it. Whisk the mixture and massage the mixture on your scalp. Leave for half an hour and then wash with a mild shampoo.
