    Healthier Lungs

    Lungs are one of the most crucial organs of our body. They work tirelessly day and night, throughout our life. Therefore, it is only important to know if the food that we eat will affect our lungs or not. Well, our diet may not directly affect the lungs but what we eat indirectly touches them through the cardiovascular system.     If you want to keep your lungs healthy, you should eat a couple of apples every day. According to a British study, even after controlling other factors, people who reported to have eaten two to five apples a week had 32 percent lower risk of asthma than those who ate less.     We all know that water is essential for life as it plays a vital role in almost every function of our body. It is the base for any cleaning action. It also plays crucial role in keeping the blood flowing to and from the lungs. Water also keeps our lungs hydrated and the mucus flowing.     Vitamin C contains antioxidants that may ward off lung damage by fighting free radicals. According to a study conducted in Japan, people who had high intake of vitamin C were less likely to suffer from asthma than those who had lower intake.     Cruciferous Vegetables

    Cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, and kale have been shown to slow down the  progression of lung cancer. These vegetables can also reduce the risk of developing lung cancer by a half.     Beans, Seeds, and Nuts

    You may have noticed headlines on how caffeine may affect your health adversely. But when it comes to asthma, caffeine emerges as a good beverage. According to a review of seven previously published trials, caffeinated coffee might improve airway function for up to four hours after it is consumed.
