For people with a sweet tooth, a donut may seem like a place where god resides. But, this sugar craving can create health troubles to such an extent that it can send a person straight to heaven (literally). So, quit it now!

    It would be a nightmare for people with a sweet tooth to quit sugar. Are you having trouble falling asleep or do you often experience anxiety and mood swings? If your answer to all these questions is a yes, you are in  for a lot of trouble. Quitting sugar invites a lot of trouble to your health. You will witness a change in your skin's quality and will also experience changes in mental health.

    So, here are a few tips that will help you to quit the habit within 30 days.

    Drink Water

    Choose water over coffee, tea, aerated drinks, lemon juice, and every other flavoured liquid that you could think of. Substitute all your drinks with water and you will end up forgetting about sugar-loaded drinks eventually.

    Drink More Water

    The moment you think you have had enough water throughout the day, pick up a glass of water and swallow it down. This will keep you dehydrated and fight headaches caused due to absence of sugar during the first few days.

    Eat a Healthful Breakfast

    Skipping Breakfast is a sin. Starting your day on a healthy note is very essential. Include oatmeal, quinoa or a hearty green smoothie in your breakfast diet. Always remember that your breakfast should not include sugar in any form. So, say no to breakfast cereals and fruit juices.

    Have Full Fat Dairy Products

    Don’t avoid full-fat dairy products. They contain lactose, which makes it harmful for the body. Choose green tea or black coffee over dairy products instead.

    Concentrate on the Reasons Behind Quitting Sugar

    This is a must. Once you have convinced yourself completely that you will be better off without sugar, you must try and keep reminding yourself of the reasons why you should be quitting sugar intake. Whenever you have an urge to eat high-on sugar content, remind yourself that the decision you have taken to quit sugar is going to work wonders for you.

    Eliminate Processed Food

    Whatever you plan to eat, eat it fresh. Your meals must include whole foods like vegetables which are sold fresh and not canned. Don’t think snacking on some canned food items would do no damage. Grab a carrot stick and munch on it.

    Search the internet for some diabetic recipes, candida diet recipes and paleo recipes and try them.

    Avoid Artificial Sugars

    If it seems possible, avoid artificial sugars. Avoiding processed foods means avoiding sugar but, there is nothing more beneficial if you can avoid sugar in drinks like coffee and tea.

    Fill yourself with Food

    When you are hungry, your craving for sweet increases. Fill yourself with healthy diets like green salads and grilled chicken. Eat boiled eggs and keep a track of your cravings to lessen them.
