Foods that boost your skins SPF

With winter approaching your skin will need extra care and protection. Although the sun may seem less harmful, you will still need effective protection from the rays. Here are some foods that will boost your skin's SPF.

    SPF helps your skin stay safe in the sun. Otherwise, the harmful rays may cause some damage to the skin. Following foods will help boost your skin's natural ability to fight sun damage. Image Courtesy: Getty

    Cucumber

    It is believed that cucumbers are great for skin and they can easily be used to remove dark circles, puffiness and swelling around the eyes. Cucumbers will also help you escape the fury of the ultraviolet rays. Simply slice a cucumber and put the slices over your eyes for around twenty minutes to boost the natural SPF.     Eggs

    Avocados

    Avocado is packed with vitamins and unsaturated fats that work wonders on people who have acne as well as sensitive or dry skin.     Papaya

    Turmeric

    Turmeric can add colour and taste to food but it can also protect you from the sun. Mix turmeric powder along with cucumber or lemon juice and apply it on the skin.     Coffee

    Gram flour

    Gram flour has been traditionally used in beauty care, mainly to deep cleanse and exfoliate the skin. It can also help the skin fight the sun better. Mix it with yogurt, lemon juice and a pinch of turmeric or mix it with ground almonds with gram flour, milk and lemon juice. Apply it on the face and wash off after 20 to 30 minutes.
