    Gastritis is a condition in which mucosa, the stomach lining, is inflamed. Mucosa contains cells that produce acid and enzymes that break down the food to aid digestion. It also produces mucus that protects it from the acid. Gastritis leads to less production of acid, enzymes, and mucus. However, there are several ways to treat gastritis.
