    If you are feeling bloated, you should keep a distance from beans, lentils and peas. These contain sugars which are difficult for the body to break down. As a consequence, you feel bloated. When struggling with bloating, stick to small portions.

    Cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, kale) are counted among the worst foods when it comes to bloating. They contain raffinose — a sugar that remains undigested until bacteria in your gut ferment it. It produces gas and, in turn, makes you feel bloated. Cooking these vegetable softens the fibre and makes veggies easier to digest.

    Milk products can cause gas to form in the GI tract, which may trigger bloating. If you feel bloated after drinking only a glass of milk, you may be lactose intolerant. In that case, you should opt for lactose-free or non-dairy alternatives.
