    Bananas Are Awesome

    Bought just three days earlier, bananas overripe too soon and have either to be trashed or to force feed yourself. But, you shouldn’t have to do either of them only if you knew the various awesome and unusual uses of bananas. They can add a lot to your beauty too.

    Removes Warts

    Sounds unusual? Well, a lot of people swear by it. Rub your wart with a banana peel daily. You can even apply a piece of banana peel directly to the wart and hold in place with an adhesive bandage of piece of sturdy tape, like duct tape. It may take several weeks to see any progress, so be patient. Not only do banana peels help eliminate warts, but they prevent their return.

    Whitens Teeth

    While it is a myth that banana peels can help polish silver, but they surely can make your teeth visibly whiter. Rubbing banana peel on your teeth for a couple of minutes every day will leave your teeth brighter in a few days. Just that, you will have to rub the peels after brushing your teeth and will have to deal with banana-breath for a while for it to show effect.

    Tenders Roast

    Banana leaves have been used by many culinary marvels across Asia to wrap meat. The idea is to cook meat more tender. Some wonderful cooks believe that banana itself has this ability. So the next time you have invited friends over for a turkey roast, and fear that it will turn tough on you, just wrap your bird in banana peels.

    Polishes Leather Shoes

    Of course it sounds strikingly odd but it’s true. First, remove any of the leftover stringy material from the inside of the peel, and then just start rubbing the inside of the peel on your shoes. Once done, furbish the shoe with a paper towel or soft cloth. When you will notice the shiny result, you will use this technique to restore your leather furniture too.

    Misting the dingy and dirty houseplants with water just spreads the dirt around. Instead, wipe down each leaf of your dear plants with the inside of a banana peel. The entire gunk from the surface will be removed and your plants will shine with lustre.

    Burying dried-up banana peels deep around the base of your insect-prone plants will make the little suckers pack up and leave. However, don’t bury the whole peel or the fruit itself for raccoons, squirrels, rabbits, and other animals can dig up your dear plants for the tasty treat.

    Enriches Plants

    Bananas and its peels are rich in potassium which is an important nutrient for the plants and garden. Bananas can be decomposed into fertilisers or mulch to be used in your garden. Dry out banana peels on screens during the winter months. In early spring, grind them up in a food processor or blender and use it as a mulch to give new plants and seedlings a healthy start.

    Who doesn’t like butterflies floating and birds chirping in the backyard? Overripe bananas, just like other sweet-smelling fruits can attract a lot of pretty birdies. Just put them on a raised platform in your backyard. Punch a few holes in the bananas to make the fruit more accessible to the butterflies.

    Fights Wrinkles

    Break out your blender and toss in two overripe bananas, one avocado and yogurt. Apply the creamy mixture to your face and wait at least 20 minutes before rinsing out with warm water. This works as an excellent anti-ageing mask. Bananas and avocados are rich sources of vitamin E which helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and age spots.
