    Impotency

Impotence or ED can be a shattering problem for a man, especially during early life. There can be several causes of impotence and some foods can be harmful for your sexual potency. Here are some foods that have been linked to impotency. While nothing is sure unless confirmed by your doctor, if you notice a decline in your sexual health or problems such as erectile dysfunction, you should be concerned about these foods. Alcohol

Alcohol can be harmful for your sex life. Overconsumption of alcohol may cause blood vessels in the member to expand, but difficult to close. The penis, as a result, may get erect but may not be able to stay erect for long as there is no vessel holding the blood inside the member. This can turn into ED in the long run. You must consume alcohol in moderation. Image Courtesy: Getty

    Caffeine

You may find a cup of coffee very comforting but too much of it may also be harmful for your manhood. While a 2009 study found no significant connection between caffeine consumption and impotency or erectile dysfunction and another study on diabetic rats found that caffeine has positive effects on erectile dysfunction, a third study confirmed that caffeine is linked with ED as it can constrict blood vessels. Men with heart disease and erectile dysfunction must try reducing caffeine consumption. Image Courtesy: Getty

    Sugary Foods

While there is still no substantial evidence to prove the link, it is believed that reducing the consumption of sugary foods may have a positive result on impotency. Some researchers have observed that men who eat too much of sugary foods have a higher risk of experiencing impotency or ED. Avoid sugary foods if you are experiencing such problems. Sodium

Sodium has also been linked to impotency. Since foods high in sodium i.e. salt, can increase risk of medical conditions such as heart problems and hypertension, you should reduce your intake of sodium. Such medical conditions also increase risk of impotency. Avoid foods that are too salty if you have such a condition, especially if you have both the medical conditions and symptoms of ED. High Cholesterol Food

Food high in cholesterol such as eggs, cheese and butter also increase risk of men developing ED problems or impotency. Cholesterol in excess can pose risk of several heart diseases and several other medical conditions that can also have a negative impact on your manhood. Avoid foods that are high in cholesterol content for better health including sexual health. Image Courtesy: Getty

    Frozen Food

While this one may appear surprising, most frozen foods include excess of salt or fats, both of which are not healthy for your heart. Since most of the heart conditions can also affect your sexual health, increasing the risk of ED or impotency, you should cut down on your frozen food intake. Try fresh fruits and vegetables instead of frozen foods. It would be a healthy change for you. Image Courtesy: Getty

    Packed Food

Just like frozen foods, other forms of packaged foods also contain too much salt, fat or preservatives. Eating too much of packed foods increase the risk of developing hypertension and heart problems in the longer run and also cause impotency. You should avoid eating too much of packaged foods. Make it a habit to eat fresh fruits and vegetables rather than packed foods. Image Courtesy: Getty
