The regular strawberries, lemons and onions are not just ingredients for a nutritious, well-balanced diet, but a major boost for your skin and hair too. So, when you can actually solve your beauty woes by raiding your kitchen shelves and fridge, why spend money on expensive cosmetic products which do much less than what they tout of.

    Lemon Juice and Onions for Hyper pigmentation

    The nature of lemon juice and onions is acidic and when they are combined together, they can gently yet effectively treat dark spots and hyper pigmentation. Blend ¼ of a red onion with a freshly squeezed lemon juice and apply it to the pigmented area. Wash this homemade treatment after 10-15 minutes with a mild cleanser.

    Almond Milk and Coffee for Dry Hands and Feet

    You can easily make a soothing hand and foot scrub at home with almond milk and coffee grounds. Combine 2 cupfuls of almond milk and some coffee grounds and scrub your limbs with it in a circular motion. Almond milk contains antioxidants and vitamin E to protect skin from free radicals which damage skin cells and break down the collagen. While the coffee grounds provide exfoliating benefits for a radiant skin, a scrub made of caffeine is best to stimulate cells and elastin, to temporarily firm the skin.

    Ditch your topical treatments and attain a gorgeously radiant skin by drinking a cup of peppermint tea. Yes, it is as easy as that. In fact, celebrities are believed to drink this minty stuff every time they step on the red carpet. It improves blood circulation and gives you a vibrant glow. Plus, your stress hormone is too scared of it to release.

    Strawberries and Honey for UV Damage

    Strawberries are a rich source of vitamin C and salicylic acid. Salicylic is an anti-acne treatment which helps clear the skin by warding off flare-ups. If you pair strawberries with honey, which is full of anti-bacterial properties, they can beat any store-bought face mask in treating uneven skin tone and UV damage to the skin. Mash together three strawberries and add 1 tbsp. of honey to it and apply the mixture on your face. Wash off the mask with warm water after 15 minutes.

    Coconut Oil for Dry Hair

    A warm weather makes your hair dry, frizzy and unmanageable. Coconut oil has moisturizing properties which can effectively nourish your skin and fight frizz. After you shampoo your hair, work a little coconut oil into your scalp and wash off with chilly water after 5 to 10 minutes. This beauty tip will close the hair cuticle, seal in moisture, and fight frizz.

    Apple Cider Vinegar for Product Buildup

    Your hair products like shampoo, mousse, and hairspray can leave residue on your scalp which is often confused to be dandruff. Also, dirt, hard mineral water deposits, and natural oils can buildup on your hair shaft. All this makes your tresses look oily, dull and dirty. Applying apple-cider vinegar for 5 minutes can provide a quick fix. Apple cider vinegar removes product buildup, restores shine, and helps to even out hair’s porosity. You just need to comb it through your hair and leave it for 5 minutes before shampooing.

    Fenugreek Extract for Acne Scars

    Add a few seeds of fenugreek (methi) into a little water; boil for about 10-15 minutes. Allow the liquid to cool, strain out the seeds and using a cotton ball, apply the water to the acne scars. Doing this regularly for about a week will ensure a reduction in the intensity of the scars’ appearance.
