    Toothpaste may dry out your pimple owing to the presence of baking soda. However, there are many added chemicals (such as alcohol, hydrogen peroxide and menthol) in toothpastes that can irritate your skin.

    Nut scrub

    Nut scrub is a bad idea to get dead skin cells and impurities off from the body. Even after you crush them, there will be a lot of jagged edges that carry risk of microtears in the skin.

    Egg white masks

    Contrary to popular belief, egg white masks don’t do any good to the skin but is never to try home remedy owing to the risks it poses. In fact, it  carries the risk of salmonella infection, which can cause diarrhoea, fever and abdominal cramps.

    Butter for burn

    Never use butter to heal a burn. It can set you up for infection because bacteria can grow in butter. When you get a burn, run cold water on it, apply an antibiotic cream and then cover it.

    Yogurt for yeast infections

    A common misconception is that yogurt rids the environment of bad bacteria owing to acidophilus. Unfortunately, there is no considerable evidence to back the claim. The remedy can lead to even more infections.
