Do you often feel like sitting at a place where you can relax, read your favourite book with your hot cup of tea or coffee away from the hustle and bustle of the city? Don't be surprised if I tell you exactly about two such exotic places.
If you want to know how a cup of hot tea can be a cool thing then you need to visit Cha Bar, an in house cafe at the Oxford book store in Connaught Place. This café surely reinforces your belief that tea rejuvenates your senses, and makes you feel out of the world. The humble brew may be known by many names but its effects are warm and soothing.
So what's special about Cha bar? "The Cha bar has 180 flavours of tea, amazing! From Masala chai to Darjeeling tea, Kangra spring to herbal tea, from oolong special to Nilgiri. You name it and we have it," says Harish Kumar, manager at Cha bar. The main highlights are "truck drivers 100 meel ki cha" and Bollywood masala mix cha, served in Bollywood special kettles. Just opposite the café you can glance at the big library that has books from all wide range of subjects. The usual sight of the café is people sipping and reading books for long hours.
"The interior is another amazing aspect. The walls of the bar are decorated with antique pieces of kettle that gives a true desi feel. Also, the cutlery served along with tea is another highlight. Our monkey shape glass holders are very popular," adds Harish. For youngsters it is the perfect place for re-union with friends. "I usually catch up with my friends here. It is fun to share details about each other over a cuppa of fine tea, quiches and salads," shares Namita, Eco (Hons.), Gargi College.
Café Turtle gives you the feel of a cosy tree house. It is a relaxing place where you can savour snacks, coffees and chit chat with friends. The library is the USP of this place it has a huge variety from fiction to religious books. The fragrance of the incense sticks and the posters of Buddha give peace to the body and mind. "The great aroma at the Café Turtle is what that tinkles me, also the serene interiors make we wish to visit the café again and again. The menu at this place is awesome. I don't think there is better place to finish your beloved book," says Ankit, Software engineer at IBM. Summing up, it is great place to relax after a hectic day in office or college.
