Define a Single Parent Family?

A single-parent family can be defined as a household which has child/children (younger than 18 years) living with one parent. Single parenthood might be a circumstantial consequence and may be due to variety of reasons such as divorce, death, adoption, surrogate motherhood or illegitimate affair. More often, single parenthood varies according to the local laws of nations across the globe.
