Tumor cellsA joint team from Cancer research UK and University of Leeds has devised a revolutionary cancer vaccine that can trigger the immune system of the body to wipe out cancerous tissues. During the study, this cancer jab was injected into cancer infected mice and it yielded positive results.

During the study, it was discovered that there is actually a DNA method in which the immune system can recognise the threat posed by cancerous cells and eliminate them. The biggest problem regarding cancer treatment is that the immune system of the body does not recognise cancer tumours to be a threat. However, with this new cancer jab, the immune system is tricked into believing that the tumour poses a threat to the overall well-being of the body and it wipes it out. However, the immune system does not destroy any healthy cells during the elimination of the tumour. It does not go into any sort of overdrive and pose a threat to other cells.

As of now the cancer jab as been used for prostate cancer and melanoma but experts are hopeful that the jab will be successful in cases of brain, lung and pancreatic cancer. If successfully tested on humans, this cancer jab will help cancer patients to lead a healthier and longer life. Though it will not cure cancer completely, it will at least stop cancer from metamorphosing into a life threatening pitiless killer.
