Choose a piercing studio which has experienced and trained staff. Check the hygiene and cleanliness of the place. Choose an experienced person to do your piercing and ask questions about the procedure incase you have any doubts.
Ensure the tools or equipments are sterilized; all standard studios have an autoclave which is a heat sterilization machine. Tools that cannot be sterilized by an autoclave would need to be cleaned by disinfectants on regular basis and after every procedure. Do not accept piercing from a reusable piercing gun.
Disposable gloves and needles should be used for every procedure also any chances of contamination should be avoided.
Use appropriate jewellery to avoid allergies caused by metals. Jewellery that is surgical steel, 14- or 18-carat gold can be used. Avoid nickel.
