Alopecia is one of the most difficult-to-manage hair problems and harder to cure. Therefore, you should not ignore a bald spot. Some things you should do if you notice a bald spot are:

See a Doctor

When you see a bald spot and suspect it to be alopecia, schedule an appointment with a professional. A hair expert will be able to distinguish between traction and traumatic alopecia and tell you the approach to deal with the condition.

Take Good Care of Hair

Mostly, hair problems are self-inflicted. Improper detangling or other hair damaging practices can damage hair. This is the reason why you need to implement a healthy hair care regimen as soon as you spot a hair problem. Shampooing, conditioning and moisturizing are the three things you should be focusing more on. Your hair should not have dirt and residue of hair products you use. Wash your hair regularly in warm water and use a deep conditioner.

Abstain from Use of Blow Dryers and Colouring

Limit direct heat if you are experiencing alopecia. During this state, the hair is fragile and using heat on it can worsen the condition. It is better to forego the use of flat irons and blow dryers for some time. Besides, don’t use hair colours and perms as they can damage your hair.
