Most of us take our eyes for granted and rarely bother to take preventive care. And we relate eye problems like weakening of eye sight to age. Do you know acupuncture for eyes can help alleviate several symptoms of eye like eyestrain, visual disturbances, night blindness, and sensitivity to light.

Acupuncture has been shown to be useful for treating a wide range of visual conditions including:

  • Glaucoma,
  • Conjunctivitis/pink eye
  • Cataracts,
  • Macular degeneration,
  • Optic neuritis and optic atrophy.
  • Retinitis pigmentosa, and several other diseases that threaten the eyesight.

All conditions of the eye should be treated primarily under the care of an eye doctor and acupuncture should be considered as add on therapy. You need not stop your regular therapy while considering acupuncture for problems related to eyes. Acupuncture can help in supporting the eyes and relieving symptoms but it is not be used in place of an eye specialist. Eye is a sensitive and delicate organ so if you are planning to go for acupuncture for eye problems consult a properly trained and licensed practitioner.
